JAGUAR C-TYPE
The Ecurie Ecosse Jaguar C-Type driven by Ninian Sanderson at the 1954 British Automobile Racing Club Members' Meeting at the Goodwood Motor Circuit (Sanderson finished third). Very few sports-racing cars have achieved such legendary status as the Jaguar C-Type, winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans twice for Jaguar during the company’s near domination of the event in the 1950s. By the end of the 1953 season, Jaguar was beginning development of its next sports-racing model, the iconic D-Type. Consequently, in November 1953, a C-Type was offered for sale to the famed Ecurie Ecosse (Scotland Stable). This car was one of three Works lightweights built specifically for the 1953 running of Le Mans by Jaguar, Ecurie Ecosse would later purchase a further 2 lightweight C-Types. The Jaguar C-Types were campaigned throughout 1954 by Ecurie Ecosse to numerous wins and podium finishes.
